BOONVILLE - Lula Bass Watson, 98, died on Christmas Eve. The Lord gently took Lula's hand and entered into the gates of Heaven, where she joined her family and loved ones with the angels rejoicing.
Lula was a member of Mount Gilead General Baptist Church. She was an avid quilter who made all kinds of hand-made articles which she enjoyed donating to Nursing Home patients, shut-in friends and charitable organizations. She loved fishing and life.
Lula was preceded in death by all of her brothers and sisters, one daughter, Deloris Bullock and a granddaughter, Misty DeVillis.
Her children were very dear to her. She leaves behind five daughters and their families who mourn her death; Beatrice Hocker of Evansville, Ind., Loraine Trautvetter of Shelburn, Ind., Ilene Edwards (Jim) and Dortha Tatum (David) of Boonville, Ind., and Lynda Corne of Terre Haute, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service is 1 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2006, at Koehler Funeral Home - Boonville Chapel, with Rev. John Swain officiating. Burial is in Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville, Ind.
Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel.
Memorial contributions in memory of Lula may be made to the Mt. Gilead General Baptist Church Building Fund.
