Mrs. Josie M. Pelt Cadwell, 85, of Umatilla passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2012. Born in Perry,
Florida, she grew up in Holopaw, FL and moved to Umatilla in 1947. She was a registered nurse and worked for Harry Anna Children's Hospital for 23 years and later worked at Lake Eustis Care Center for 20 years. She was a Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, was a member of the Mather's School of Nursing Alumni Association, New Orleans, LA. She graduated from nursing school the only honor graduate with an award for excellence in pediatrics. She was very active in the First Baptist Church of Umatilla and volunteered at the Agnes May Crisis Center. Survivors include her son, Welton G. (Barbara) Cadwell, Umatilla, FL; daughter: Elizabeth C. (Paul ) Getchell, Umatilla; brothers: Earl Pelt, James (Patsy) Pelt; sister: Fran Lavender; sisters-in-law: Peggy and Pat; grandchildren: Katie (Eric) Martin, Tim Cadwell, Sarah Cadwell, Hamilton Cadwell, Bonnie Getchell, Brian Getchell; great grandchildren: J. J. Creech, Mitchell Creech, Sam Martin, Harrison Martin and Madeline Martin; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Gwinn Cadwell and her daughter, Catherine Cadwell Aaronson.
Visitation
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 29, 2012 at the First BaptistvChurch of Umatilla.
Services
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 30, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Umatillavwith Reverend Brooks Braswell officiating.
Interment
Interment will follow the services at the Umatilla Cemetery Annex
