Ida Atteberry, 88, of Flat Rock, IL, died at 4:04 p.m. (EST) on Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. She was born September 14, 1928 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of William Allison & Nancy (Hendrix) Allison, both of whom preceded in death.
She married John C. Atteberry on May 7, 1947, and he preceded her in death on January 1, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Georgia Atteberry on April 21, 2014; as well as two brothers & sisters-in-law.
She is survived by her son, C. Nolan Atteberry (Flat Rock, IL); by her daughters, Becky Matheney (Robinson, IL), and Barbara McGovern (Flat Rock, IL); by her grandchildren, John & Sara Atteberry (Robinson, IL), Richard & Melinda Atteberry (Flat Rock, IL), Kayla Peters & A.J. Bewley (Terre Haute, IN), Wendy & Ira Thompson (Robinson, IL), Jack & Rayanne McGovern (Flat Rock, IL), Nancy Shidler & Terry Biernbaum (Robinson, IL), and Georgia & Phil Littlejohn (Annapolis, IL); 22 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; by her brother, David Allison (Xenia, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 17th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Flat Rock. Services will follow and will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Burial will follow at the Jones Cemetery (rural Flat Rock). Memorials may be made to the Ida Atteberry Memorial Fund, with checks made payable to “Goodwine Funeral Homes”.
