He is my 7th Great Grandfather.

He was married to Winfred Nalle. I believe this was Winifred's 2nd marriage.

1752-1755, he was Captain of Militia in the French and Indian War.

He had one other son that I know of and that is James Dillard 1727-2836 who married Priscilla Sukey Pettus.

Per Edwin Lee Jones I am adding the following information.
Her parents Martin Nalle and Mary (Alden) Nalle.

In 1752 Thomas Dillard, Sr. was a vestery man in Atrim Parrish Halifax County, Virginia.

1752 appointed Captain of foot Halifax County.
1753 appointed Justice of the Peace.
1755 appointed Major of the militia Halifax
1767 appointed Lt. Colonel of the militia in Pittsylvania County, Virginia.
1768 appointed boundary commissioner.
1772 appointed coroner.

Suggested edit: It is easy to confuse the two Thomas Dillards that died in 1774. Thomas Dillard of Spotsylvania who married Elizabeth Holloway made his will on 23 Oct 1774 and it was probated in Dec. 1774.

Thomas Dillard of Pittsylvania who married Winifred Nalle made his will on 4 May 1774 and it was probated 13 June 1774. Please look at the will for Thomas of Pittsylvania in the gallery of my tree on Ancestry. user970 Gresham, Robinson and Allied Families tree. Thanks , Mary

Suggested edit: The dates for James Dillard who married Sukey Pettus seem incorrect. There was a James Dillard son of Thomas Dillard of Spotsylvania who married Elizabeth Holloway who married Sukey Pettus. There was another James Dillard son of Thomas and Winifred Nalle who married a Priscilla Pettus. We know this because in 1779, James and his brother Thomas sold their inherited land in Spotsylvania to their brother Richard. They were both living in Amherst at the time. James' wife was called Sukey, but he was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Holloway. Thanks, Mary
