COLUMBUS GA Ruth Austin Aaron March 15, 1928 - April 24, 2009

Ruth Austin Aaron, 81, of Columbus, GA passed away on Friday, April 24, 2009 at Heritage Hills. Funeral services for Mrs. Aaron will be held 2:00PM on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Ted Gann and Reverend Jerry E. Sauls officiating. Ruth's family will receive friends one hour prior to service with interment to follow in Parkhill Cemetery. Mrs. Aaron was born March 15, 1928 in Ozark, Alabama to the late Irving and Ida Austin.
Ruth was a very hard worker, who always worked more than one job at once. Her true passion was Radiology. Ruth was a life time member of The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. She also spent many hours volunteering for Hospice; and just helping people in need. She also was a member of University Assembly of God here in Columbus. In addition to her parents Mrs. Aaron is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Vernon Hugh "Blackie" Aaron, and her daughter, Evon Rogers. She is survived by one daughter, Lee Johnstone and husband, Dave of Toronto Ontario, Canada; step-daughter, Linda Vines and husband, Tom of Abilene, Texas; son, Rodney Aaron and wife, Dakery of Saint Petersburg, Florida; seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren; special and faithful friend, Ruby McCullogh and family; and the staff of Heritage Hills who loved and cared for her.
