LOGAN, Utah - Mildred Bair Cox, 90, passed away on May 30, 2001, at Terrace Grove of causes incident to age.

Mildred was born on Sept. 9, 1910, in Logan, Utah to Katie Larsen and Henry Parley Bair. She grew up in Logan and graduated from Logan High. She worked in the Cache County Courthouse and at her Dad's plumbing shop in Preston.

While attending Utah Agricultural College in Logan, she met Donald Morley Cox. They were married on August 8, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah. After Don's graduation from the AC, they lived in Farmington and Monticello, Utah and then moved to Berkeley, Calif., where Mildred sold real estate and worked at Hink's Department Store.

Mildred and Don were blessed with two children, Janet and Morley. As a family they enjoyed fishing and camping. After her husband passed away in 1965, Mildred continued living in Berkeley for 35 years until her recent move to Terrace Grove in Logan. She was very independent and enjoyed Japanese flower arranging, pottery and making custom greeting cards with her sister Camilla. She traveled to many places including Hawaii, Europe and Canada. Before her mother's death in 1977, Mildred drove to Utah two to three times a year to help take care of her.

After her move to Terrace Grove in August 2000, Mildred enjoyed developing new friendships and helping other tenants. She was asked by the Foundation to represent the other residents of Terrace Grove on various committees where she served with enthusiasm. She enjoyed living close to and spending time with family.

We will remember the fun times playing Upwords, Sequence and other games, learning about the many places she'd been, and talking about her memories of growing up. She was generous to her family as well as to others in need.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Janet Kelly, of Olympia, Wash.; her son, Morley (Jeanne) Cox of Logan, Utah; two brothers, Melvin (Mona) Bair of Logan, Utah and Lloyd (Jaunita) Bair of Henderson, Nev.; one sister, Camilla (Ernest) Parkinson of Sacramento, Calif.; four granddaughters, Joni (Mark) Garcia, of Logan, Utah, Julie Cox, of Ames, Iowa, Jill Cox, of Logan, Utah, Jeena (Ryan) Lugo, of Logan, Utah; and two grandsons, David (Crystal) Cox of Albany, Ore., and Daniel (Sara) Cox of Salt Lake City; and eight great-grandchildren, Justin, Jordan, Jacob, David, Cami, Capri, Lauren and Amanda.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Katie Larsen and Henry Parley Bair; and her husband, Donald Morley Cox.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Allen-Hall Mortuary in Logan, 34 E. Center St. Graveside services will be held at noon on Thursday at the Logan Cemetery.

The family extends their thanks to the staff of Terrace Grove for their care of Mildred during the past 9 months.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to the Sadie Foundation, P.O. Box 95, Logan, Utah 84323.
