NOTE: Annies' father William Thomas Paul and her brother Thomas, were drowned 19th December 1870 when the ketch the Water Witch capsized in bad weather off the Red Bluff (Brighton).
NOTE: James William Paul was born to Annie Paul 18th December, 1874 and died 5th February at 7 weeks old. Annie Paul was a single mother. Infant was named James after his father James Elder and William after Annie’s father William Thomas Paul. James and Annie married in March 1876.

DEATHS:
ELDER - On the 18th May, at her daughter's residence, No. 86 Beauchamp street, Preston, Annie, the dearly loved wife of the late James Elder, and loving mother of James, Jessie (Mrs. Moss), John, William and Susan (Mrs. Harding), aged 75 years.
Late of Port Melbourne.
NOTE: In Annies obit. it states she is 75 years old and that age is also on the tombstone. She was 71.
