Born in Cleveland County, Eunice graduated from Boiling Springs High School and Shelby Hospital Nursing Program. She served as a nurse in the Army during World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star and other medals. Eunice worked as head nurse at Royster Memorial Hospital, Crawley Memorial Hospital and retired from Dr. D. T. Bridges after 30 years of service. Miss Hamrick was also one of three nurses who started formal home health care in Cleveland County. She was a life-long member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church. Eunice loved to play bridge, loved knitting, fishing, traveling and loved to go to church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Duval Hamrick and Osie Foy Hamrick; brothers, Evans Hamrick and Leo Yates Hamrick; and sisters, Lois Fincher, Winfrey Shuman, Mary Hewitt, Louise Hamrick, Betty Jean Hamrick and Martha Suttle.
Miss Hamrick's survivors include a brother, Thomas Hamrick of Boiling Springs; sisters, Margie Foy Parker of Charlotte and Dorothy Sue Hamrick of Boiling Springs; and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members. A special thanks to her brother, Tom Hamrick, for his devoted love and care for his sister Eunice over the past five years.
Burial: Cleveland Memorial Park with full military honors
