Ms. Hamrick was born in Cleveland County, a daughter of Edwin Duvall Hamrick and Osie Foy Hamrick.
She was a graduate of Limestone College in Gaffney, S.C. and retired after 30 years of teaching third and fourth grades at Polkville Elementary School. Betty loved to read and loved to sing in the choir at Boiling Springs Baptist Church, where she was a longtime member. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma sorority and Daughters of the American Revolution.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Evan and Leo Hamrick; and sisters, Lois Fincher, Winfrey Shuman, Martha Suttle, Mary Hewitt and Louise Hamrick.
