Billy Burrows, 18, Killed in Utah Mine Accident; Rites Here
Memorial services were held at the Ord Methodist Church, Sunday afternoon at two o'clock for William Lorenzo Burrows, 18, who was fatally injured in a mine accident at Moab, Utah last Wednesday.
Born in Ord on June 4, 1939, he was the son of R. L. And Opal Blessing Burrows. He attended the Ord schools before moving to York in 1952 where his mother became the Director of the Welfare Department of York County. In 1955 he became a member of the First Presbyterian Church of York and in the spring of this year was graduated from the York High School.
Taking summer employment at the uranium mine of the Hidden Splendor Mining Company he lived with his sister and brother in law Mr. and Mrs. Don (Beverly) McNair at Moab.
Surviving besides his parents and sister are one other sister, Mrs. B. W. (Karen) Wagner of Burwell and a brother, Robert in the U.S. Air Force stationed at the Offutt Air Force Base, Omaha. Three nieces and one nephew also survive.
Interment was in the Ord Cemetery.
