Alexander Duroure served in the War of Jenkin's Ear,1740,and in the Carolinas,1742.In 1745,he served as Governor of St.Mawes Castle and also commanded the 38th Regiment of Foot.From 1756-1765,Duroure commanded the 4th (King's Own) Regiment of Foot.
