Mrs. Dorothy Russell Simmons, age 86 of Franklin, died Thursday, November 17, 2016 in Bowling Green. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Monday at 11am with burial to follow in Sulphur Spring Cemetery. A native of Robertson County Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Estis “Bud” Russell and Lillie Stanley Russell. She was retired from the Kendall Company in Franklin. Mrs. Sinmmons was preceded in death by her husband - J.D. Simmons, her brother - Bobby Russell, her brother in law - Bruce Simmons, brother in law - Louis Simmons and sister in law - Ann Helmon. She is survived by her sister - Jo Ann Simmons of Franklin and her sisters in law - Lue Alice Russell and Geraldine Simmons both of Franklin and brother in law - Rex Helmon of Louisville along with several nieces and nephews and a special niece - Rindi McGregor and her children - Shawn, Sydni, Lexi and Paige Holcomb. Visitation will be from 3pm to 7pm Sunday at Crafton Funeral Home.
