Walter C. Adams, 80, husband of Irene Adams of Brodhead, died Sunday, October 29, 2000 at the Rockcastle Hospital. He was born July 18, 1920 in Brodhead, the son of the late Loyal and Gracie Eads Adams. He was a member of the Brodhead Baptist Church and the View Club. He served his country in the Armed Forces during World War II, was a former employee of the Bluegrass Army Depot and was an air-track drill operator. On March 18, 1944 he was united in marriage to Irene Frazier, and from that union came two children, Joann and Johnny.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Irene Frazier Adams of Brodhead; one son, Johnny Adams of Brodhead; one daughter, Joann Price and husband, Danny of Newnan, Georgia; one sister, Mary Holcomb of Stanford; three grandchildren, Shannon Price, Susan Welch and Angela Norred and one great grandchild, Tyler Norred. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Hubert Adams and William J. Adams, as well as one sister, Edna Meadows.
Services were Wednesday, November 1, at the Marvin E. Owens Funeral Home Chapel in Brodhead with Bro. Mark Whicker officiating. Burial was in the Piney Grove Cemetery in Brodhead.
