Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby May Overstreet, 40, were held Wednesday morning at the Salem Methodist Church, Rev. James Johnson and Wilmer Ellis officiated.
Death came at her home in Russell County where she and her family had been living since moving from Red Hill about two years ago. She suffered from cancer.
She was born at Dunnville on July 17, 1924, the daughter of Marion and Myrtie McDonald Byrd. Both survive.
She was married to Erastus Overstreet on May 11, 1946. He died about five years ago.
She was the mother of Jimmy Ray Overstreet, Mrs. Nina Faye Cundiff Dunn, Judy Gay, Jerry Philip, Patsy Ann, Joseph Timothy, and Jackie Dale Overstreet.
Her brothers and sister are: Bessie Mae Lampton, West Hollywood, Fla.; Mrs. Lucy Brown, Liberty; Otha Byrd, Russell Springs; Mrs. Sarah Deel, Louisville; Mrs. Ruth Regensburger, Ohio; Mrs. Betty Willis, Mrs. Anna Flener, and Sharlene Byrd, all Louisville; Mrs. Shirley Mills, Russell County; Mrs. Arlie Cundiff, Lexington; and Mrs. Mary Stephens, Russell County.
There is one grandchild.
