David Wells, aged about 79 years, and living about six miles east of the city, died on Friday last, and was buried on Saturday. He was a familiar figure on the streets of Gonzales, where he frequently came to sell produce from his little farm. He was a native of Virginia, and seemingly found great delight in explaining, when in a crowd, the relative values of a English and American coins. At one time he was the possessor of a number of rare pieces of money. The old man leaves quite a large family.
