Capt. Isaac was the son of George & Mary Buzzard. He was the husband of Magdeline (Chamberlain) Buzzard (1838– 1887)
They were married in July, 20 1858 in Richmond, Northampton Co., PA.

1860 Census- Lower Mt. Bethel, Northampton, PA. Isaac Buzzard 25 and Magdelaine Buzzard 21. His worked- slater.

October 15, 1862- Mustered in with Co. K, 153rd PA Vol. Inf., along with his brother, Amos.

February 19, 1863- Promoted from 1st Lt. to Capt.

July 23, 1863- Mustered out with Co. K, 1853rd PA Vol. Inf. Later on he & brother both serve with the 28th PA.(Vet. Schedules).

1870 Census-Lower Mount Bethel, Northampton, PA. Isaac 34,
Magdaline 33, & and 5 children.

1880 Census- Milford, Pike, PA, Isaac Buzzard 44, Magdalene Buzzard 42, and 5 children.

1890 Veterans Schedules- Isaac of Bangor, Northampton, PA.

Aug. 3, 1896- Isaac died in Bangor, age 60,
and is buried in Bangor at Salem Evangelical
Church Cemetery.

Note: His wife Magdelaine, is also spelled Magdaline and Magdalene. All are all the same person, just spelled differently. Bio by Peggy Spengler-Moser.

Original Obit: Another Veteran Soldier Gone. Last Monday afternoon Captain Isaac Buzzard died at his home in lower part of Bangor, after a lingering illness, aged about sixty years. Captain Buzzard was a native of Northampton Co., and for a number of years was among the leading business men of Bangor, carry on at different times the general store and shoe business. He also had a tract of land in Pike Co., to the cultivation of which he devoted considerable attention. When Pres. Lincoln called for volunteers for 9 months, Captain Buzzard organized a company for the 153rd PA regiment and was commissioned as its captain. A few years ago he served as a member of the Bangor town council, during which time he rendered most efficient and conscientious service.
