John Octavious King, age 65, of Leland, died Saturday, December 3, 2016.

He was born October 5, 1951 in Wilmington to Johnny King, Sr. and Louise Yandle King, who both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda King Woody and a sister, Nancy Heron Logan.

He was a member of First Advent Christian Church and had previously been employed at Rippey Cadillac and DuPont.

He is survived by his wife: Brenda Sullivan King, of the home, a daughter: Sabrina King of the home, a son: Richard King and his fiancé, Tara Boney of Leland, 3 sisters: Mrs. Jacob (Charlotte) King Teachey of Wilmington, Lou King Smith of Wilmington and Judy Bradshaw of Wilmington and four grandchildren: Kambria, Shekhinah, Immaneul, and Ya'Cove (Jacob) Woody.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Coble Ward Smith Funeral Home.

The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Coble Ward Smith Funeral Home with Reverend Sam Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens
