Fred Ball, 79, of Nazareth, Texas passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 in Dimmitt, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00AM in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery with Rev. Ken Keller and Deacon Bob Birkenfeld officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Rosary will be recited at 4:00PM on Thursday with Vigil services following at 7:30PM in Holy Family Catholic Church.

Fred Ball was born on October 15, 1937 in Nazareth, Texas to Leo Ball and Josephine (Gerber) Ball. Fred grew up and attended school in Nazareth while being a lifelong resident of Nazareth. In 1957 Fred enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1963. He held various jobs while in Nazareth but will be best remembered as driving the countryside and overlooking cattle for different farmers and ranchers throughout Castro County. Fred enjoyed watching baseball and western movies but truly loved watching and attending ball games of Nazareth Swifts and Swiftettes.

Fred is survived by 2 sisters, Mary Kleman and husband Carl of Nazareth, Texas and Esther Braddock of McKinney, Texas, sister-in-law, Evelyn Ball of Plainview, Texas, 14 nephews, 4 nieces and a host of cousins.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Josephine Ball, 2 brothers, Urban Ball and James Ball, brother-in-law, Vernon Braddock, nephew, Jim Schmucker, and a great nephew, Shane Kleman
