Maggie "Ann" Aaron, age 60, of Ames, died Friday Dec. 2, 2016, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

Maggie "Ann" Aaron was born on May 8, 1956 in Gunnison, Mississippi to Scott and Rosie Lee Aaron. Ann attended and graduated from Mississippi Valley State University with her political science degree.

Ann was a people person who had a very caring heart, selflessly going out of her way to help any and everyone. Her joyful presence could be felt everywhere she went. She had an unshakable devotion to God, always willing to share a prayer with someone, even if they had never met before. Ann loved to sing. Amazing Grace and Precious Lord were some of her favorites. She sang everywhere she went, whether it was in through aisles of the grocery store, or walking down the street. Faith, family, and friends were what Ann valued the most.

Ann was called home, she was needed in Heaven. What a reunion that was. Ann's parents, Scott and Rosie Lee were there to meet her. So were her siblings, Loretta, and Willie. Ann was also reunited with her late son LaTravis.

Left to cherish Ann's memory are her children, Kinzell Aaron of Coralville, and Charmian (Kaven) Stewart of Ames; her siblings, Linda, Marshall, Patricia, Billy, Marylon, Larry, Derrick, Alfred, and Scott; her grandchildren, Asjah, Aria, Alencia, Jaiyon, Keiyon and Ty'Isha; her cousins and many friends and church family.

A gathering of friends and family will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8 at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care in Ames, with a service to be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9 at New Life Church in Ames. Burial will be at Ames Municipal Cemetery in Ames, Iowa.
