US Congressman. After serving in the Illinois National Guard during the Spanish-American War, he graduated from Illinois College of Law and was admitted to the bar in 1909. In 1917, he was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-fifth, Sixty-sixth, and Sixty-seventh Congresses, serving until 1923. He resumed the practice of law and was appointed a director of the Department of Trade and Commerce of Illinois, serving until his resignation in 1926.
