Remains were initially buried in Potter's Field but later identified as Alice Henry and reinterred at Mount Olivet.

Evening Star January 21 1907

INTERRED AS UNKNOWN

Although the authorities of this and other cities sought for three weeks to determine the identity of the woman who was found dead from asphyxiation in a Pennsylvania Avenue hotel Christmas week, they have been unsuccessful, and the body has been buried in potter's field as an unknown. As has been previously stated, the body of the man found in the room was identified as that of C.M. Turner 217 15th street southeast.

The woman's shoes bore the trademark of a firm in Kansas City Mo., but the police of that city were unable to throw any light on the mystery. A photograph was taken of the body before it was removed from the morgue as a possible aid to identification in the future. It is thought that the woman was a stranger here because no one answering her description has been reported missing. She was about forty five years of age and was neatly though plainly dressed. Her only possessions were 40 cents in money and a few trinkets, evidently purchased for a child.
