Benedict Thompson (B. Thomsen) had the masonry contract for St Johns school in St. Cloud Minnesota.
There is a record in 1879 of a B. Thomsen, that talks about "Cord stone" and masonry work during the construction of the old church at St. John's.

He also built the school house in Motley, MN.

Bendigs wife Frederikke (Stalknecht) was a mathematician and could figure the building cost from any blueprint.

Benedict Thompson had a land patent that was issued to "Bendigs Thomsen" in 1876 Morrison county MN next to his brother Nels Peter Thomsen (b-1840 d-1919).

He was a violinist and organized an orchestra at St. Cloud. The pianist said she had never known any one who could read and play music so well.
