Bianca Yon Buccalari, age 90, was born in Piedicavallo, Piedmont, Italy in 1914 to Clement and Albina Yon and immigrated to America with her family when she was a young child. She grew up in New York City and helped support her family through The Great Depression. She met her future husband Angelo "Nino" in 1930 and they moved to Reno in 1943 when they married. Bianca worked for the Washoe County Library System at the Downtown Reno branch, retiring as Department Head of the Catalog Department in 1979.
Bianca was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, always proud and supportive of the achievements of her family. Bianca enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends and took several trips to her home country of Italy, including three trips with each of her daughters to show her birthplace. Bianca was a member of the Italian Catholic Federation and a past member of the Nevada Library Association.
