Supervisor of Raimondi College, Father Joseph Carra PIME., was born in Codogno near Milan, Italy, and entering the Pontificio Istituto Missioni Esteri on October 3, 1943, was ordained to the priesthood on June 29, 1946.

Moving as a missionary in Nonyang, China as of the following year, due to the then ongoing civil war between the Nationalists and the Communists, he was not able to reach it from Hankow and thus stayed in Hankow to work in the PIME procuration.

Leaving for Hong Kong in 1953, in the years that followed, he served in various capacities, including: spiritual director of the Legion of Mary; assistant parish priest of St. Teresa's church; delegate to the International Convention of the Lay Apostolate in Rome; bishop's delegate for the Lay Apostolate; regional superior of the PIME in Hong Kong and member of the Personnel Commission and Senate of Priests. He was also responsible for the formation and organization of the Serra Club of Hong Kong and the Christian Association for Executives (CAFE).

Supervisor of Raimondi College for thirty three and a half years, from the time the school was founded in 1958 until his death, he was the driving force behind its operation and expansion. His work in education was not confined to Raimondi College. From 1970 to 1982, he served as supervisor of St. Joan of Arc School where he also built up a strong PTA and Old Boys' Association.

Passing away at 70 years of age, vigil prayer service was held at the Hong Kong Funeral Parlour on January 5, 1992. Cardinal John B. Wu presided over the funeral Mass held at the Christ the King Chapel, St. Paul's Convent Causeway Bay the following day followed by burial at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery.
