Guy & Brydie travelled a great deal. When the war broke out in 1914 he returned to England aboard the SS Adriatic and served in the Indian Military Depot and then as head of the Indian Section at the War Office. Jan 29th 1925 Brydie died of complications from kidney disease at Pau in southwestern France, a town within sight of the Pyrenees. After her death he made 'a kind of home' with various friends in Dinard Brittany France
