He retired from Cummins Engine Co. after 34 years of service. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and an avid fisherman.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Barkes, Inlow & Weaver Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Paul Haugen officiating. Calling will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday. Burial will be at Mount Zion Cemetery in Brown County.

Mr. Hamblen was born Nov. 14, 1917, the son of James William and Mary Etta Morrison Hamblen. He married Pauline Marshall on June 7, 1941.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Douglas Hamblen of Columbus; a daughter, Karen Davis of Columbus; brothers, Donald Hamblen of Lanesville and Raymond Hamblen of Scottsburg; sisters, Flora Otte of Seymour and Wanda Wilson of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Katelyn Hamblen, Magan Daniels and Dillon Davis; and two great-grandchildren.
