Isodene (Drain) Alkire, 96, of Vienna, went to be with the Lord surrounded by her family December 23, 2016.
She was born October 19, 1920 in Wood County, a daughter of the late George Drain and Lettie (Jackson) Drain.
Isodene was a member of Vienna Baptist Church, she worked a Corning Glass and retired from The DHHR as a case worker with ten years of service. She also volunteered at St. Joseph’s Hospital for 25 years.
Isodene is survived by her two daughters, Diane Alloway & (David) of Vincent, OH and Denise Honaker & Dewey Jr) of Vienna, WV, sister, Emogene Reynolds of Parkersburg, two granddaughters, Kristin Hand & (Steve) and Sarah James & (Matt), and one great grandson, Dominic Hand.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Alkire, three brothers, Clifford. George, and William Drain, three sisters, Violet Taylor, Irene Moore, and Ruth Roan.
Services will be Wednesday 11:00 AM at The Leavitt Funeral in Parkersburg with Reverend William Brown, Reverend Dennis Pratt and Reverend Randell Fuson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt Zion Cemetery in Mineral Wells. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
