Gladys Meade Harvey, age 93, of Bristol, Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 26, 2016 at NHC of Bristol.
She was born November 5, 1923 in Castlewood, Va., a daughter of the late Emmett and Lou Virgie Porter Meade.
Gladys lived most of her life in the Bristol area. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Samuel D. Alexander; second husband, Eugene Jackie Harvey; two sons, Donnie Alexander and Bobby Alexander; sister, Alleene Brooks; brothers, Robert Meade, Walter Meade, and Charlie Meade.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Donna Biggs, Susan Mangrum, Denise McCracken, Christie Jo Stacy, Barbara Thornsberry, Stevie Alexander and Marty Alexander; several great grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Bates, Gaynell Hartsock and Louveda Jessee; brother, Nathan Meade; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service and entombment for Mrs. Harvey will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2016 in the Forest Hills Mausoleum Chapel with her great grandson, Matt Mangrum officiating.
