Our Beloved father, Alifonso Abilez, Sr., went to be with Our Lord Jesus on May 9, 2004 at the age of 82. He joined his son: Juan E. Abilez, who preceded him to eternal life. Dad was preceded in death also by his brothers: Eduardo (Lalo) Abilez, Isabel (Lito) Abilez and sister, Valentina Cruz. He is survived here on earth by his wife: Maria de Jesus Abilez; sons: Luis (Alice) Abilez, Refugio "Ray" (Mary Kay Olsen) Abilez, Alfonso "Mugsy" (Maria) Abilez, Jr.; daughters: Janie Abilez, Linda Velazquez, Alicia (Randy) Oswalt, Dora (Javier) Castro, Anita Abilez; grandchildren: Brenda Abilez, Tina Abilez, Megan (Jerry) Gallardo, Mellinda Abilez, Ana Luz Velazquez, Spc. Martinez and Terry Martinez; sisters: Jesusita Cordero, Julia Ruiz and Janie Hernandez; 11 great-grandchildren, numerous other family members and friends.

Our father was our finest example of a hard working man with much integrity and pride, yet, at the same time was humble and loving. He was a great mentor not only to his children and grandchildren, but also to his nieces and nephews. We hope to take what we learned from him and pass it on to our family's future generations.
