Hans Nelson Nyborg and Annie Olsdatter used the Ohnstad surname when they immigrated to America in 1970 with their children. In the Minnesota 1880 census Hans and Annie are using Nelson as their surname probably because of the overabundance of Ohnstads in Goodhue county. In the Minnesota state 1885 census they are using the paternal Nyborg as their surname and Han's 1890 burial record in the Lutheran church also uses Nyborg. Evidently his cemetery headstone uses Ohnstad.
Annie's husband Hans died on Dec 30 1889 and was buried in the spring of 1890. Annie appears next in the Minnesota state 1895 census farming with her son Andrew in Lessor township - Polk county Minnesota. On the same page of that census is her daughter Inberg Evenmoe and her family. Inberg is buried in the Mcintosh cemetery.

In the North Dakota 1910 census Annie is 89 years old and again living with her son who has employed a housekeeper/nurse. They are living in Newborg township named after her son.
