Agnes Smith

Agnes Walkoviak Smith, 88, of Richards, died Saturday morning, September 29, 2012, at her home.
Calling hours were held Monday, October 1, 2012, at Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home from 12:00 noon until 4:00 pm.
A gathering of family and friends took place Monday, October 1, 2012, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church (saintstans.org), 1511 Hwy 90 in Anderson, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a rosary followed at 7:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 am Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. The rite of committal will follow in St. Stanislaus Church Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Ignatius Slott, Fred Ripkowski, Donald Yargo, Jake Ketkoski, Marion Klawinsky, Dennis Bonhman and Timothy Diehl.
Agnes was born January 21, 1924 in Grimes County to Louis J. and Michalina "Lena" Klawinsky Walkoviak. A life long resident of Richards, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and great grandmother. As a life member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, she received all of her sacraments there and was a member of the Altar Society. She married Mike Smith on June 15, 1942 and to this union their only child Helen was born. With a loving heart, she cared for both of her parents as well as her husband, caring for all of them through their illnesses until their deaths.. She loved working in her garden and canning the fruits of her labor. Agnes also enjoyed sewing and was an avid domino player.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mike and great grandson, Trent Murphy Moriarty.
Survivors include her daughter, Helen Moriarty and husband Daniel of Richards; grandchildren, Murphy Moriarty and wife Missy and their daughter Morgan, of Richards, Stacie Moriarty Higgins and husband Shawn and their children, Pat and Kate of Rogers and Jerry Moriarty and wife Hope and their children, Zach and Zane of Anderson; sisters-in-law, Katherine Diehl and husband Robert and Anna Mae Smith both of Montgomery and numerous other relatives and a great number of friends.
