Paul L. Abbott was born August 21, 1922 in St. Lawrence, Hand Co., SD to Frank A. "Ted" and Maude E. (King) Abbott. He attended one year of high school in Miller.

Paul married Ardis (Paulson), daughter of Ole and Magda (Fossum) Paulson, October 6, 1942, in Seattle, King Co., Washington.

Paul served in the US Army from February 10, 1943 to January 20, 1946.

Returning to South Dakota, Paul was employed in the service department of Northwestern Public Service Co since 1946.

He was a member of of St. John's Lutheran Church, Shriners, Masons, and the American Legion.

Paul died October 25, 1982 at the Day County Hospital in Webster, SD.

Survivors included is wife, Ardis, daughter, Paula Lee Sanchez, brothers, Earl, Frank, and John; sisters, Bertha, Pearl, and Frances; one granddaughter, Nichole.

He was preceded in death by two infant sisters, and brother, Albert.
