Kenneth L. West of West Manchester Township died at 5:13 am Nov 21 at Memorial Hospital. He was 78.

Mr. West retired as a spray painter in 1983 from York International He was a member of St Rose of Lima Catholic Church. He was a comedy lead for productions at York Little Theatre, American Legion shows and Grid Iron Shows in Harrisburg. He was a member of Elks Club BPOE No 213 Viking Club West York Hawk’s Gunning Club Pleasureville Prince Athletic Association International Order of Odd Fellows West York VFW Post 8951 Shiloh and American Legion Post No 791.

He was founder and director of the Elks Players York. He was a 1938 graduate of William Penn Senior High School and Thompson’s Business School.

Born in York March 13 1920 he was a son of the late John L and Ella Scott West He was the husband of the late Rosaleen Barr West.

He leaves a daughter Cynthia West Baltimore a son Gerad L West York two grandchildren and a sister Pauline Schaeffer York Viewing is 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory Inc 1551 Kenneth Road A Mass of Christian burial is at 10 am Wednesday at St Rose of Lima Catholic Church 950 W Market St., with the Rev. Thomas MacCauley celebrant. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, 5020 Ritter Road Suite 106 Mechanicsburg, Pa. 17345.
