Alice Bostic McKinney, 79, went to be with her Lord, Wednesday, January 11, 2016 at her residence.

She was born May 29, 1937 in Cleveland County, the wife of Robert “Bob” McKinney and the daughter of the late Dewey Bostic and Worthy Eaker Bostic.

A member of Gantt’s Grove Baptist Church where she was the former church secretary, a member of the WMU and helped in the kitchen. Alice had worked in the textile industry and enjoyed shopping, couponing and loved to talk on the telephone. A quiet, giving person, she was devoted to her family, her church and her God. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Robert “Bob” McKinney; a son Scott McKinney and fiancée, Donna Francis of Boiling Springs; two sisters Geneva Bennett and Lib Patty both of Mooresboro; two grandchildren, Katlyn Davis and husband, Timothy of Greensboro and Alex McKinney of Kings Mountain and a great-granddaughter, Scarlett Davis.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael Todd McKinney and two sisters, Mattie Sue Whitener and Mary Street.

A funeral service will be held at 3 pm Friday, January 13th at Gantt’s Grove Baptist Church with Pastors Robert Lane and Scott Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
