CHARLES W. BAKNER, aged 56 years, died at his home at Fairview last night at 10:30 o'clock of an acute heart attack.
Mr. Bakner was in his usual good health yesterday and retired shortly after 10 o'clock and at 10:30 his wife found him in a dying condition and before a doctor, could reach him he passed away.
He was born at Fairview, the son of William and Mary Anna (Monn) Bakner and lived his entire life at Fairview.
He was a mason by trade and was last employed in the construction of the Waynesboro senior high school, finishing his work there last week.
Mr. Bakner was a member of the Blue Rock First United Brethren Church and teacher of tbe Men's Bible class of that church for 21 years.
Surviving are, his wife nee Mary A. Shockey and four sons, Norman, Quincy; Clark, Tomstown;Wilbur , Quincy; and J. Milton, of Fairview. Six grandchildren and four brothers, James, John, Benjamin and Stewart, all of Fairview, also survive.
The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon from the home at 1:30 o'clock with services at the Blue Rock United Brethren Church at 2 o'clock in charge of the Rev. Harry Barnes, assisted by the Rev. Harry James and the Rev. N. W. Brechbiel. Interment will be made in the Quincy cemetery.
The body may be viewed between the hours of 7 and 9 o'clock Wednesday night.
