Lyman Benton Stevens, 72, well known Clinton county farmer for many years, died at the home of his daughter in Lansing ,Thursday, July 24.

The son of Ayers and Evaline Stevens, he was born October 9, 1868 in Essex township. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Lovina Kirby, September 26, 1894, who preceded him in death Nov 30, 1931. To this union four children were born. He is survived by a son Lyle and a daughter Gladys; six grandchildren; three brothers.

He spent all of his life in the vicinity of St. Johns, excepting about three years in Ohio and Illinois. He was a kind and loving husband and father and a good neighbor, always willing to help others. He will be greatly missed by his relatives and friends.

The funeral was held at 2 o’clock Sunday, July 27, at the Christian church of Eureka, with Rev. Earl F. Collins of the St. Johns Congregational church officiating. Burial was made in the Eureka cemetery.
