Grace Calloway, 88, of Strong, AR passed away Monday, April 15, 2019 at the Timberlane Health and Rehab in El Dorado, AR. Arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced by Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado, AR.

Elinor "Grace" Calloway age 88 of Strong, AR passed away Monday, April 15, 2019 at Timberlane Health and Rehab Center in El Dorado. Grace was born on May 2, 1930 in Strong, AR to the late Alma Johnson Hendrix and Alzo Hendrix. She was a longtime member of Union Methodist Protestant Church, where she served as treasurer of the flower fund for many years. She was united in married to Clarence Abner Calloway on November 22, 1946 in Strong and they were happily married until his death in 1999. Though she and Clarence had no children of their own, they had many nieces and nephews, whom they loved dearly. She was born a Hendrix but married into the Calloway family in 1946. She was like a beloved sister to all the Calloway family and reciprocated their love. Grace worked for Bailey Funeral Home for 20 plus years, where she enjoyed the many conversation and acquaintances while working visitations. She was affectionately known as "Aunt Grace" by everyone, Kinfolk or not and will be sorely missed by all.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence Calloway; one sister, Ernestine Vestal and by one niece, Joan Eakin.
Survivors include; two nephews, Mouzon Vestal and wife Tip of Strong, and Leo Eakin of Buffalo, TX; great niece, Susie Hicks and husband Charlie of Strong; great nephew, Johnny Vestal and wife Deborah of Strong; great nephew, Randy Eakin of Buffalo, TX; great niece, Lea Ann Matthews and husband Gary of Houston, TX. Grace is also survived by many great great nieces and nephews including; Melissa Boykin and husband Shaye of Strong, John Mark Vestal of Strong, Harley Eakin of Buffalo, TX and Hannah Eakin of Buffalo, TX; one great great great nephew, Gray Beckett Boykin of Strong along with a host of friends.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm followed by Funeral Services at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Union Methodist Protestant Church in Strong, with Rev. Donald Ray Smith and Rev. Robert Burns officiating. Interment will be at Strong Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.
