Onica Lyons, 67, of Clay county, died early yesterday morning in a Charleston hospital of injuries suffered several days ago, near his home, when he was knocked from a trestle by a freight train.
Hospital attaches attributed his death to internal injuries and shock. His condition was not considered critical until two days ago.
Mr. Lyons received a broken leg, the third he has suffered in two years. He was on crutches - the result of one of his previous accidents, when struck by the train. In Sept. 1936, Mr. Lyons fell and broke his right leg and when in Charleston in July of the following year to have X-ray pictures taken of his leg to see if it was fully healed, he fell and broke the same leg at the hip.
His body was removed to the Hardman and Hardman mortuary at Clay.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. today at the residence and burial will be in Cherry Tree cemetery. The Rev. Thomas Carpenter will officiate.
