The daughter of Richard & Elinor (Browne) Warfield of Warfield Plantation in Millersville, Anne Arundel Co MD, Elinor married Caleb Dorsey on 24 Aug 1704 in St Anne's Parish Church in Annapolis, Anne Arundel Co MD, the son of John Horace & Pleasance (Ely) Dorsey of Hockley-in-the-Hole Plantation, Elk Ridge, Anne Arundel [now Howard] Co MD.

She was the mother of thirteen children, eight sons and five daughters.

"In the Name of God Amen I Elinor Dorsey of Ann Arundel County Widow being sick of body but of sound mind and perfect memory praised by God do make this my last Will and Testament
Imprimis I will that all my Just Debts be in the first Part paid.
Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Son Richard Dorsey my Negro woman Called J___ And my Negro Man Called Pinnas and Hannah his wife and three Cowes and Three Calves one feather Bed with a Counter pane and all Furniture used with the Bed and the sum of Ten pounds Current money and I do further the said Bequest to my Son Edward to be upon this special trust and Confidence that my said Son make the best and most Profit of the said Slaves and other things Bequeathed to him and I advise that the s'd Profits which shall be made by my Son be Yearly paid to my Daughter Sophia Gough in such ____ and ____ as he shall think necessary for her support and maintenance and that his own Receipt be a sufficient discharge to my said Son on his payments of the said Yearly Profits and my will is that Thomas Gough the Present Husband of my said Daughter shall never have any Claim on my said son for what I have above Bequeathed And my further Will is that after the Death of my Daughter Sophia my said son shall deliver the Negros and other things Bequeathed to him to such Person or Persons as my said Daughter by her will in writing notwithstanding her ____ - shall Direct and for want of such direction I desire the said Negroes and other things may be divided among such of my Children as shall be living at the Death of my Daughter Sophia.
Item I Give and Bequeath unto my dear daughter Deborah Dorsey my Negro wench Called H___ and her Child Called Billy.
Item I give and Bequeath unto my Grandson Henry Woodward My Negro Boy Called Jack and to my Grand Daughter Mary Todd Ten Pounds Current Money.
Item I Give to my Grand Daughter Elinor Dorsey Daughter of my Son John Dorsey My Negro wench Called F___.
Item I give to my Son Thomas Beale Dorsey my old Negro Man Peter and Flora his wife and ten pounds Current money.
Item I give to my Grandson Caleb Dorsey and my Granddaughters Ann Dorsey Elinor Dorsey Elizabeth Dorsey and Mary Dorsey Son and Daughters of my Son Richard Dorsey ten pounds sterling each.
I Give all the residue and remaining part of my Estate to my each of my Children.

Lastly I nominate and appoint my dear Son John Dorsey Executor of this my last Will and Testament in Witness whereof I have set my hand and Seal this fourteenth Day of May Anno Dominos Seventeen Hundred and fifty two

On the 15 of July 1752 Edward Baldwin one of the subscribing Witnesses to the foregoing Will being duly & solemnly sworn on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God deposed and declared that he saw the Testatrix Elinor Dorsey sign the said Will and heard her Publish and declare the same to be her last Will and Testament that at the time of her so doing she was to the best of his apprehension of sound and disposing mind and memory and that he saw Richard Warfield Jun'r sign his name as Witness to the said Will
