WALKERTON - LeRoy “Dick” Adams, 87 of Walkerton, IN passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 29th at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on April 15, 1929 in North Liberty to the late LeRoy W. and Emily F. (Blad) Adams.

On September 4, 1948 in South Bend he married Genevieve Sheaks who preceded him in death in 2009.

Dick is survived by two daughters, Christie (Larry) Rice of Plymouth and Vickie Matz of Walkerton; five grandchildren, Angie (Tyronn) Thomas, Ginger (Brian) Moore, David (Renee) Matz, Lisa (Dan) Erdelyi and Larry (Barb) Rice, Jr. and eight great-grandchildren, Kaylee Matz, Tylan Thomas, Carson Matz, Jayden Thomas, Samantha Rose, Lilian Rice, Elijah Rice and Gwenyth Rice. He is also survived by two sisters, Lorraine (Howard) Perkins of North Liberty and Donna Porter of Walkerton.

He was a lifetime Michiana area resident working for numerous companies through the Local Carpenters Union #413 of which he was a member. He was also a member of the North Liberty Masonic Lodge. He was a Master Mason.

Dick enjoyed trap shooting, golfing, fishing, woodworking and meeting his buddies every day at McDonalds. He also enjoyed playing pool for the Walkerton Pool League. He loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and his dog Buddy Boy.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 2nd from 4:00 to 8:00 PM with a Masonic Service at 7:00 PM at Hanley and Sons Funeral Home “Walkerton Chapel”, 1216 Roosevelt Road, Walkerton. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, February 3rd in the funeral home with Pastor Robert Rice, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton, IN.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to Shriners Hospital for Children , 2211 North Oak Park Avenue, Chicago, IL 60707-3392 or John Glenn School Corp., Building Trades, 101 John Glenn Drive, Walkerton, IN 46574
