Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia, for Charles "Skipper" Pounds, 58, of Foxworth, who died Sunday, February 5, 2017 at his residence. Interment will be in the Lott Cemetery. Lloyd Herring will officiate.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Hathorn Funeral Home.

As a longtime resident of Marion County, Charles loved sitting on his porch near Ten Mile Creek, coon hunting, and riding his Harley with friends. When young, he was a very accomplished pitcher at Pascagoula High School. He was generous, loyal, and loved his family and friends deeply, leaving a powerful mark on everyone he came in contact with. The words he spoke carried weight because he was a man of his word.

Charles was preceded in death by his Father, Charles Edward Pounds; Brother, William "Billy" Pounds.

He is survived by his Son, Edward Pounds (Anna), Columbia; his two Daughters, Jessica Christian (Jonathan), Denver, Colorado, Savannah Pounds, Foxworth; his Mother, Kathy Pounds, Moss Point; two Sisters, De'Wanna Morris, Humble, Texas, Donna Allen, Ocean Springs; five Grandchildren, Gabriel Pounds, Columbia, Katherine Pounds, Columbia, Chloe Pounds, Denver, Colorado, Tori Hopkins, Denver, Colorado, Emberlee Christian, Denver, Colorado.

Pallbearers will be, Mike Lee, TJ Pounds, Shane Sumrall, Wayne Barber, Bobby Bedwell, Ryan Stringer. Randy Sumrall will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer.
