For a time Cornelius lived with his father at Van Hornesville, but returned to Warrensbush (now the town of Florida, Montgomery Co., New York).
Cornelius and his wife were members of the Reformed Church at Caughnawaga, where all of their children were baptized. They joined the Reformed Church at Minaville when it was formed in 1808.
