Almetta Johnson was born on May 5, 1922, in Memphis, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Thomas Edgar and Almetta (Watts) Johnson. She was named after her mother Almetta, and the family affectionately called her “Met”. She married Willie Lee Patterson on September 13, 1942. Met had eight children Willie Lee, Jr., Jean Alice, Geraldine, Barbara, James Bradley, Robert, Charles, and Paul. She died on August 11, 1999, in her hometown. She is buried at New Park Cemetery in Memphis, TN.
