First Burial in Enon Cemetery
"An interesting story is told about Enon's Cemetery beginning. The original Keys family's home stood on the site…. the pioneer family's log home stood on the site of one of the old walled tombs. It is said that during a siege of cold weather, a woman of the pioneer family died. Since the weather was so severe that they could not be taken outside for burial, a grave was made in the clay floor of the kitchen, where she was buried. When the log home was torn down, the story goes the site was used for other burials." (from an unpublished ms. in church notes shared by James K. Harrison, historian, First Baptist Church of Huntsville.)

(Or does this refer to the First Baptist cemetery where the original Enon Church was?)
