She first married Asa Aldrich in 1812 and they had three daughters: Emeline, Sarah, and Mary Aldrich. Asa died suddenly in his sleep in 1823 when he was only 39 years old. Lucy then married Calvin Cowdery in 1826, the third of his four wives. They had two children: Asa Aldrich Cowdery, and Harriet A. Cowdery.
