Virginia "Ginny" Heath, 101, of Austinburg, died Thursday, Feb. 16th, at her home. She was born April 23, 1915, in Cambridge, Ohio the daughter of Emil E. and Anna (Urban) Shaw.
She had worked for Reliance Electric for 32 years, starting in Cleveland and then moving to Ashtabula to the new plant. She was active with the Union and was the first Chairman of the Relief Committee. When she came to Ashtabula she trained Stator Winders at Reliance.
She was a member of Reliance Retirees Club, Past President of the Austinburg Garden Club, Past President of the Grottoettes of El Kadir Grotto, she was the First Lady of the Austinburg Township for Ashtabula County Beautification, and she was a member of the Family Motor Coach Association.
She enjoyed bowling and was a member of several leagues. She also enjoyed gardening, clogging, flower arranging and showing them at the Ashtabula County Fair, and quilt making.
Surviving her are six grandchildren, Bill (Kathy) March, Dale (Chriss) March, Kathleen Howe, James Heath, Eric Heath and Mark Heath; eight great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and a step son, James Heath of Austinburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lewis in 1994; and by a daughter, Martha March in 2010.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, Feb. 21st, at 11 a.m. at the Ashtabula Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS AND CREMATORY, 526 W. Prospect Rd. Ashtabula, with Rev. William Terry of the Austinburg First United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Ridgeview Cemetery.
