DEATH OF MRS. GRAY
Mrs. R. A. Gray, who has suffered for several months with diabetes, passed away Sunday afternoon at her home in this place. Mrs. Gray has not been well for almost a year and four months ago was taken much worse and since that time has continued to grow worse. Everything possible was done for her but to no avail and death came Sunday to relieve her suffering.
Mary Adel Hurtt was born in Illinois, August 30, 1863, and passed away at her home in this place Sunday, December 28, 1919. She was united in marriage to R. A. Gray and for many years they have made their home in this place. She was a prominent member of the Rebekah Lodge as well as the Pythian's Sister Lodge, taking an active interest in these orders during the past several years. She has been elected to represent this district in the Rebekah state meetings and also has been prominent in the state meetings of the Pythian Sisters Lodge.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the residence, Rev. J. P. Wilson of the Methodist church preaching a short sermon and the burial service was conducted by the Rebekah Lodge of which the deceased has long been a member. Interment was made in the West Lawn cemetery.
Besides the sorrowing husband, R. A. Gray, she leaves three children, Mrs. Nellie Young of this place, Mrs. D. F. Lucas and James Gray, of Fort Dodge; one sister, Mrs. William Heller, of Fort Dodge, and two brotheres John and Thomas Hurtt of this place. The sympathy of all is extended to the bereaved relatives in their hour of sorrow.
