She attended school in Newton and North Cache High School.
She married Benjamin Franklin Hill March 29, 1946 in Ogden, Utah. They were blessed with 6 children, three boys and three girls. On December 11, 1964 they were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple.
Ben worked construction and they moved around a lot. In December of 1963 they bought a farm in Rose, Idaho where Zilpha and the children settled down while Ben still traveled for work. Zilpha worked for 18 years at the Firth School as a cook. Ben died August 2, 1985.
She supported her children in all their endeavors.
She was always helping others and was loved by all.
She enjoyed camping, crocheting, and traveling with family and friends.
Zilpha was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served as Primary President, Relief Society President, Sunday School teacher, Primary teacher, Liberian, and Visiting Teacher.
She is survived by her children Weldon (Marg) Hill, Cannon ( Susan) Hill, Dennis (Shelley) Hill, Joyce (Terry) Monson, Jessie Lou (Rockie) Messick, and Anna (John) Little, 20 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her brothers Theron, Quinton, and Keith Barker, and sister Beatrice Nyman.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 11 am in the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello, where family will receive friends from 6-7 pm Monday evening and one hour prior to services.
