Funeral services for former St. Francis hospital administrator S. Everett Burgoyne, 69,
of 1311 Milton Ave., Monroe, will be at 2 p.m. today at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic
Church.
Father Roger McMullen assisted by Father William Moore will officiate.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum under direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home.
A rosary service was held Monday night at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
Mr. Burgoyne died early Monday at St. Francis Hospital after a lengthy illness.
A native of Minneapolis, Minn., Mr. Burgoyne moved to Monroe in 1922. He was a graduate
of Spring Hill University in Mobile, Ala., and Loyola University Law School in New Orleans.
Mr. Burgoyne was active in the hospital administratiion field for many years and retired
in 1972 as a private hospital consultant.
He was a member of the Board of Directors of Blue Cross of Louisiana and a member of the
American College of Hospital Administrators. He was a past president and member of the
Louisiana Hospital Association, and held membership in the American Hospital Association, American Bar Association and the Louisiana Bar Association. He was a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
He also held membership in Monroe Rotary, Monroe Kiwanis, Knights of Columbus and the Bayou DeSiard Country Club.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Zora B. Burgoyne of Monroe; one son, Richard Burgoyne of Monroe; one daughter, Miss Doll Burgoyne of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Bert B.
Burgoyne of Baton Rouge; one sister, Mrs. Frank Looney of Shreveport; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Howard Reitz, Louis Carville, T.F. Wilson, George Tonore, Paul Ozment, and John Luther Kelly.
The family requests that memorials be made to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Research Center in Houston, Texas, or the St. Francis Hospital Building Fund.
