Baptized Johann Friederich Christian Sundt at the Evangelische Kirche Wasdow (AG. Gnoien) on Sep 9, 1821. [Gravestone lists 1819 as year of birth. Probably 1821] Parents were Johann David and Maria Kien Sundt, who lived and died in Germany.
Johann married Maria Lembke in Oct 1847 at the same church as his baptism.
In 1857, Johann and his wife Marie emigrated from Germany on the ship Howard with 2 sons and 3 daughters. The ship departed Nov 16, 1857 and did not arrive in New York until Feb 22, 1858. Johann's wife Marie and 2 daughters perished on the journey.
Johann and his surviving children con't onward to Wisconsin and settled in the town of Newton.
On January 27, 1859, Johann married Wilhelmina Matthews Hein, a widow with 4 children.
Johann and Wilhelmina had 5 additional children. They farmed an 80 acre farm in Section 3 of the town of Newton.
